Gilsland Farm Center

Dawn to Dusk

A gorgeous sanctuary that holds a visitor center, trails, flower gardens, and a gift shop. There are also walking trails that lead along the Presumpscot River. The Farm Center was very well maintained with clean bathrooms, big parking lots, and a water fountain. By far one of the best places to visit in all of Falmouth.

Falmouth Community Park

24 Hours

A multi use 160 acre park with parking at every athletic fields. The best part is the 4.4 miles of walking trails. The well marked hike curves through the forest. It is moderately trafficked and rated as easy. The location is Winn rd which is approximately 1/8 of a mile off Falmouth rd. The park also has some of the best nature and wildlife watching in Falmouth. There also has a group picnicking area for eating.

Blackstrap Hill Preserve

24 Hours

A large trail system with plenty of forks in the road. The main loop totals 3.2 miles. The ups and downs can get pretty steep so it is rated as moderate. Not a super casual hike. Another downside is how many mountain bikers ride here. Always be on the lookout for people biking. The trails itself have rougher terrain with rocks and roots jutting out of the dirt.

A great community driven free library in Falmouth. What makes this library different from the rest is how dedicated they are to storytimes. Multiple times a day they will have a follow along reading. These can be found here . In the kids room they have crafts, board games, and toys to play with.

A beautiful rocky island with great views of Castco Bay. Parking can be limited and has a small fee during the summer. Mackworth island is only for the off-season. The short mile loop is super well maintained and features small outlooks throughout. Another great plus to this trail is all along it are fairy houses and plenty of space to build your own.

Presumpscot Falls Park

A very short but one of the most scenic trails in Falmouth. 0.5 miles along the water to see people fish. Even though the walk is quick it is rated as difficult because of the tree roots jutting out of the dirt. Along the same bridge is Walton park that has a loop you can do after Presumpscot trail.

24 Hours

Walton Park

Dawn to Dusk

A heavily wooded 4.4 acre trail going down to Presumpscot River. There is plenty of parking with a lot of 15 cars. The trail itself has mostly switchbacks on a light grade. Just beware not to muss the entrance after the big 200 foot bridge. On the other side of the bridge there is another trail which you can see above.
